the expression nest-mitti and diya diwali clay modelling and pottery workshop for kids
E Block, GK-2 (Greater Kailash 2), New Delhi.
The Expression Nest, presents Mitti & Diya - A Diwali Pottery Experience, a hands-on creative workshop where children can explore the traditional art of working with natural potter's clay (mitti). Designed around the spirit of Diwali, this experience introduces children to clay modelling through festive creations that they can make with their own hands.
What Children Will Create
1. Handmade Festive Diyas
Children will work with natural potter's clay to shape and create their own Diwali diyas. Instead of simply buying ready-made diyas, they get to experience the process of making their own traditional festive decorations.
2. Little Clay Pots
Children can explore hand-modelling techniques to create little pots using natural clay. This activity gives them an opportunity to experiment with shapes, forms and textures while discovering the possibilities of working with mitti.
3. Adorable Clay Animal Figures
The workshop also includes creating small animal figures using clay, allowing children to use their imagination and transform simple pieces of mitti into playful shapes and creations.
A Traditional Hand-Modelling Pottery Experience
This is a hand-modelled clay workshop using traditional potter's clay, not a wheel-based pottery session. Children will get to experience the tactile process of shaping natural clay by hand and understand the joy of creating something from scratch.
