Application Process for Nursery Admissions 2026–27

The admission forms will be available from late November 2025, as per the DoE schedule. Schools may offer online, offline, or both modes of application.

Online Application Process

Most private unaided schools in Delhi allow online registrations. Here’s how you can apply:

  1. Visit the school website → Nursery Admissions 2026–27 section.

  2. Fill the registration form carefully (details must match document proofs).

  3. Upload scanned documents (PDF/JPEG within size limits).

  4. Pay registration fee online (if applicable).

  5. Save & download a copy of the submitted form + payment receipt.

Offline Application Process

For schools following offline registrations:

  1. Collect the admission form from the school office.

  2. Attach self-attested photocopies of all required documents.

  3. Submit the form along with the registration fee (if applicable).

  4. Keep the acknowledgment slip safe.

Admission Selection Process: Points-Based System

Delhi’s nursery admission system for private unaided schools is points-based. Each school sets its own criteria, but follows DoE guidelines for fairness and transparency.

Common Criteria & Point Allocation

  • Distance from School
Children living closer receive higher points.

  • Sibling Studying in the School
    Ensures continuity for families.

  • Alumni
Extra points if a parent is an alumnus.

  • Girl Child / Firstborn (if applicable)
Some schools include this under social considerations.

BeeBuddy Tip:
Check each school’s point system carefully before applying—this helps you prioritise schools strategically based on your eligibility.

Reserved Seats for Nursery Admissions 2026–27 (25% Quota)

As per the RTE Act 2009 and DoE guidelines, 25% of entry-level seats (Nursery/KG/Class 1) MUST be reserved for:

1. EWS (Economically Weaker Section)

Annual family income up to ₹1 lakh.

2. DG (Disadvantaged Group)

SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) & other recognized groups.

3. CwD (Children with Disabilities)

As per Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act.

Important:
Admissions for EWS/DG/CwD are conducted centrally online via DoE, NOT by individual schools.
No fee can be charged at any stage.

Prohibited Criteria for Nursery Admissions

To ensure fairness, schools cannot use the following while shortlisting applicants:

  • Parents’ education or profession

  • Income or employment details

  • Food habits (veg/non-veg)

  • Caste, religion, cultural background

  • Parent or child interviews

These were removed to make the admission process unbiased and transparent.

Real-Parent Observations & Tips (From Previous Years)

Parents often report variations across schools. Here are some real, practical insights:

1. Address Proof Differences

  • Some schools require address proof of both parents

  • Some do not accept Aadhaar

  • A few demand bank statements stamped by branch

  • One school required proof that the family had lived at the address for 6+ months

2. Affidavit Differences

  • Some schools accept a common Notary affidavit

  • Others require a specific format

  • A few demand Magistrate-level attestation

3. Lottery Process Variations

  • Document verification before/after lottery

  • Offline lottery with limited parents allowed

  • Online lottery via Zoom/YouTube

  • Some schools skip the announcement and directly publish results

Tips From Experienced Parents

✔ Create a spreadsheet of shortlisted schools & distance
